This is over. Dubs made a motion for a bond set and the judge will hear that once he talks to the jurors. I will definitely be back. Wow.

I'm betting the judge will not allow bond.
I would say 11 to 1 guilty. If so and the Judge polls the Jury , he will not offer bond. Just my 2 cents worth
hope you are right, border.
I think it is right the opposite. I feel it is 11-1 (not guilty). I feel there was way too much doubt left out there for guilty
I bet that because the judge has seen and heard the evidence and formed his own opinion that he will grant a bond. I would think release him on his on recognizance.
I agree with ladys comment.
I just don't think 1 sole Jury would have held out for Guilty. In my mind I don't see no way
I feel that it will be at least one guilty maybe two guilty the rest will be not guilty. I would be very surprised if there was an eleven guilty and one not guilty. Just based on all of the evidence that was presented. In any case it will be interesting to see what happens next with the DA's office. If they decide to pursue this any further. IF it is the aforementioned I would expect that the DA would drop this case. As we all know they could come back in 10 years and re-open the case. With the emotions that are running high in this community, I really hope that for his safety they do not allow bond. There is no closure for anyone.
At this point, JA has not been declared guilty or innocent....it's almost like before the trial took place....regardless of the lack of evidence, what they do have was obviously enough to arrest him. That still stands. The only way to get closure on this for JA, EA, their families, and the community is for there to be a retrial. Put yourself in JA's shoes, even if you hadn't been found guilty, would you want to be free knowing that people would always have suspicions and doubts that you were a cold-blooded murder? If I were JA, and I knew myself to be innocent, then I'd want my name cleared by a "Not Guilty" Verdict. On the other hand, if I were JA, and knew I'd done it...then I'd want out regardless of what people thought.
OK - I don't know either Jerry or Emily, but I have been keeping track of this since she was first reported missing. Of course, I didn't see all the evidence like the jurors, but I'll tell ya, I think he's guilty. He's not stupid. He though it through, and yes, I think he is a flight risk, otherwise, why would he have a passport issued AFTER her disappearance!?
Hi everyone. Here we go with the rumors again. A passport issued after Emily went missing? There was no testimony to that effect so it never happened. Enough already.
Can't wait til the evening news to see the one or two holdouts have their 15 minutes of fame...
"I just know in my heart he is guilty!"
The failure of democracy.
Yes, there was a passport
There may not have been testimony about a passport, but I do remember that it was reported in the news just after he was arrested. However, since much of the evidence either wasn't investigated properly or even presented during the trial, perhaps this is something that will come up in the retrial.
I remember the talk about the passport. It was supposedly applied for before she was killed and arrived just a couple of weeks after she was found. It it is true, sounds like a plan to skip town to me.
I don't know if it was evidence not admitted, or if the prosecution decided not to press the subject, but it was included in the inventory of the house in the search warrant issued in January along with the life insurance policies and other misc paperwork found in the house. If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck . . . . too many coincidences, circumstantial or not. But it seems like everyone has lost sight of the fact that a woman has lost her life in a very violent way, and he is the one person who actually had something to gain if she died and everything to lose if she divorced him as planned.
Allison - That was a ridiculous statement. A mistrial is not a failure of democracy that is the success of democracy! Would you want to be on trail and not be afforded all of the rights that we as American citizens have? I thank God every day that I am an American and live in a country that protects the rights of all individuals, whether they are guilty or not guilty.
It's people like you guys spreading rumors that made for this mess today.
All the prosecution needed on the jury was one less-than-reasonable person who believes in gossip to throw this trial off track.
I hope the judge considers prosecuting the holdout juror for perjury when she said she could be fair and impartial. Never happen, but I wish it would to send a message.
allison, how do you know the hold out juror was holding out for a guilty verdict? maybe that was the only one that thought he was not guilty
Actually Alison, I don't spread rumors. I don't work in Caldwell County (this isn't a big deal where I am employed), my friends and I don't sit around and discuss the trial on the weekend (I have a life), and gossiping among church members (I attend church in Caldwell County)is hardly a christian thing to do . . .the few comments I have made on this blog haven't been provocative heresay, and I haven't said anything that has not already been published and is already been made public knowledge. I commend the lone juror for holding out on what they obviously felt strongly was the right thing. This is not only tearing families apart, but communities as well.
the lone juror is going to interview with nbc6 at 4:30

The lone juror is going to be on TV? How about that! What a surprise!
CaldwellGirl, you are glad the juror held out and then in the next breath you state this trial is ripping the community apart. And then you say you are Christian. Something doesn't add up.
SoccerJox, what is your affiliation with this case? You are not from around here, so why the interest?
Allison - Yes that is what democracy is. You have the right if you live in the area to remove that DA, vote him out office, start a campaign against him. Did you vote in the last election?
Would you rather they not hold out and possibly have a miscarriage of justice? Yes, I hate the fact that this is tearing apart families and communities, Yes, I think he is guilty. Do I think they have enough evidence to convict? Dunno. Isn't it a good thing when someone stands for what they believe, no matter what it is? Even if the lone juror says they found him not guilty, I disagree, but at least they did what they though was right . . and how can that be bad?
I have no affiliation with the case other than a few of my friends still live in the area and were talking about it, I am finishing up with my law degree up here "Yankee Land" as someone called it - planning on working with a District Attorney's Office somewhere, in the South since that is where I am from and then move into criminal defense. So to answer your question this kind of falls into where my career is headed.
Democracy assumes all people are intelligent enough to make good choices.
Think GW Bush. Bunch of beer swigging, NASCAR watching guys will mullet hair cuts voted him in. I rest my case.
Allison - That is correct if that were not the case we would be a Theocracy much like Iran, I choose the USofA who do you choose?
Can someone explain Allison's last statement, I really do not understand that one...
OK Alison, its now time for your to get off your high horse. I'm not a beer swigging, Nascar watching, mullet wearing redneck as you so eloquenlty put it, but GW is a much better alternative to Gore . . come on....he professed to inventing the internet . . .OK we are off the subject of JA. I am sorry if I have offended you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it is different from your own. This is a free country . . right?
SJ, that pretty much makes you a carpetbagger yes?
BTW, fill in the blank:
________ and truth
That would be an interetsing poll to see how many of those who used their gut to convict Mr. Anderson also used their gut to know that GW Bush is an American hero. Bet there is a high correlation.
Allison - No actually I grew up in Morganton NC. Went to school right outside of Charlotte and came to study Law here. And just to set the record straight I have no desire to seek public office. So I really do not think that calling me a "carpetbagger" makes sense. I love it how you attack people who question you, you know that is a sign of an inferiority complex?
Children.. it's time to come in for dinner. Make sure to wipe the sand off your pants legs before you come in the house. And bring the toys out of the sandbox, it's looking like rain.
SJ,
_____ and truth
What is the answer?
