Week three begins

Well, week three is underway. It appears we will not hear opening statements by the week's end. No jurors were seated in court on Tuesday. Attorneys still have to decide on three more jurors and then began selection on alternate jurors. How many alternates there will be is Judge Cayer's decision. I suspect it will be three or four. So unless something different happens than the previous two weeks I doubt we'll hear opening statements before the beginning of next week. Now as you know I'm not down there, but the attorneys are repeating the same questions to each individual juror that is asked to sit in the jury box. Those questions range from knowledge of the case to opinions on the death penalty to knowledge of certain evidence that will be discussed during the trial such as farm equipment, cell phones, search dogs, computer software and multiple marriages. Jury selection is not a fast process. Attorneys anticipated selection going into week 3.
