Thanks

Hello all. I wanted to take this time to thank everyone for checking out this blog. The purpose was always to let folks who couldn't be in court, but cared about Emily and Jerry, know what was going on. I always tired to remain fair and unbiased, and I hope that came across to everyone. Your readership and the comments (although too harsh for my liking sometimes) are valued and much appreciated. Please check out the Hickory Daily Record's online or print versions tomorrow to hear comments from attorneys, jurors and family and friends. I am going to now be on bond watch. I will post if/once Jerry is released from jail, and I will post anytime I learn something new about the case, so check out the Web site every now and then. Thanks again. Now, I must go finish my work and get out of here in the next few hours. It's been a long six weeks, but enjoyable and, I hope, informative. Take care, and who knows, maybe I will still be around for Jerry's next trial. C-ya later. Blogging out, Jenn

Jenn, THANK YOU !!!!

You did a great job at keeping us informed. I found myself on the edge of my seat after every blog entry waiting for the next one.

I apologize if I or some of my fellow commentors got carried away at times. I'm sure you can understand that sometimes emotions run high.

Again many thanks!!!

Jennifer,

You did a fantastic job with this blog. I appreciate your promptness in reporting. It was a wonderful thing for those of us who couldn't be there. It was like watching the trial, play by play. I hope your life and your job will return to normal soon. Hats off to you!

As stated before by soccerjox, those of us who live in Caldwell County MUST pay more attention to our elected officials. I hope that everyone reading (no matter which side of this case you are on) will take the initiative to get more involved in our county government. I for one will be at the next meeting of the commissioners. I'm spreading the word to other county residents as well. Let's take our county back! A lot of our tax dollars were spent and wasted on this trial. Unfortunately it took a tragic loss of life to bring to light the inadequacies of our local government. CC residents...will I see you at the next meeting? I hope so!

Thank you Jenn, you did an outstanding job keeping us informed on the happenings during the trial.
I am not from your area, but I knew EA years ago and thought highly of her. She was a good person and didn't deserve what happened to her (No one deserves that type of fate). Hopefully the authorities can continue to investigate that crime and find the person(s) who did it.

Thanks Jennifer!
I know this trial has been emotionally draining on a lot of good people. I just hope we can all remember that the victim is EMILY. Regardless whether you thought Jerry was guilty or innocent the jury had the last word and that word left the door open for the CCSD to collect evidence the right way and present a case worthy of a vedict.
Thanks again Jennifer for keeping us all informed!

Well Allison, thanks for the one post too late lesson in blogging. I think we all could have done without that. As a matter of fact there were some posts that bordered on being ugly and un-called for but for the most part everyone was not so badly behaved as you would have us to believe. If you really want to complain the write a letter to the editor and not here on the blog. If you're trying to draw attention to how intelligent you are well I'd say that you and the DA share the same initials

Jennifer, as a courtroom colleague, I can honestly say your work here was excellent. You sat through every day of the trial reporting the facts. You delivered something that can't be touched by any other media format. For the folks in Sawmills, the folks in Kentucky, the people seeking their justice that couldn't be in the courtroom, you delivered the trial in a very unbiased manner. You should be very proud of yourself and your paper should be proud of you as well.

Job well done :)

Thanks Jenn for keeping us informed on this forum. If Allison didn't agree with the way it was presented,it appears to me that she is in the same boat as the lone juror. Keep up the good work!
