Another week comes to an end
Well, folks, another day, another week, and still no word if Jerry Anderson is guilty or innocent of killing his wife. The jurors were told at 5 p.m. to go home for the weekend. Deliberation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
My heart just aches for Emily's and Jerry's families and friends. Especially, their siblings. All are traveling from Kentucky, if I am not mistaken. I know, at least with Emily's relatives, they have been going back home over the weekend and coming back down on Sunday. What a lot of traveling. I know that can just add to the exhaustion. I notice tissues in hands, somber looks on the faces of many close to the victim and defendant.
For Jerry, this means another weekend in jail. Like I observed, his spirit seemed high today. He just came from his holding cell smiling and talking to his council. Earlier in the week, his attorney said he was doing OK, just ready for the end.
I think we all are, just maybe not quite as anxious as those with personal connections to this case. Well, I will be back Monday. Will the end be then?

OK, I lied...I will post again. After a lot of theory on the jurors mindset I expected a hasty verdict judged on prosecution presentation. I also have debated with myself that the jury would find him guilty as charged after four hours and fifteen minutes of deliberation the first day.I have since changed my mind after reading the requests by the juros and the full day of deliberation today. It is my theory that they will aquit the defendant of the charges.Someone is holding out on a not guilty verdict and they are trying to convince that juror.Thats just my opinion and as we all know,we all have one just like bellybuttons...Makes me wonder what other people in this forum are thinking too, especially ret-investigator...I can only imagine the agony for all personally involved in this.Maybe Friday the thirteenth turned out to be a lucky day for Mr.Anderson as rude as that may sound...
Craig - you may be right regarding the hold out juror(s). There are so many loose ends in proving him guilty, which the CCSD never did. The DA offers little more than assumptions, with no factual evidence. I believe assumptions by some jurors are the problem(s). Some want to convict him by what little actual evidence there is, which so far is ... she walked to the pasture with Jerry...died from gunshot wounds 2-4 days later or on the day the DA says...and was found dead in a tool box, in her truck in Duncan SC. This one will find its way to TV if he's found not guilty. Either he IS innocent to start with OR he IS one lucky SOB to have done what he did with this CCSD & DA handling the case.
We all want some one who did this. There is a woman who died by someone elses means. But should Jerry Anderson be the one who is charged? There are too too many questions.
I, for one, have spent much of my time watching "Foresic Files" and other crime invesitgating shows. From what I have seen, the investigation was poor, if at best--A drunken dog, a recreation of his "hits".
No matter if the jury believes that there is enough evidence that Jerry did it, there is a question about where? North Carolina? or South Carolina? JUristdiction?
Gotta feel for the Jurors, Long weekend ahead.
What you want to bet that he will be going home monday?
Pretty good odds...but you never know what a jury might do. I've been thinking about all the crticism of the prosecution on this case, and this blog. While I'll not make any excuses, because I don't know what really went on, I sure as heck would not want the responsability. I don't have a dog in this fight, but it has been enlightening to say the least. Thanks to the knowledgable ones posting here, good stuff.
Were they supposed to come in at 9:30 this morning? Any thoughts on what the weekend may have brought into their thought process?
Is it not odd how everything got fummbled after sheiff clark passed away? Might want you to think real hard next election.
